High tech nursing care is provided to patients subscribing to the major medical insurance companies or those who wish to self fund their treatment. Nursing care is delivered in the privacy and comfort of the patient's own home, relative or carer's home, or in some instances at the patient’s place of work. Under the supervision of our specialist staff, patients can be transferred home safely from hospital, where they will continue to receive the highest standards of clinical care.
Typical treatment areas include chemotherapy for cancer, monoclonal antibodies, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics and antivirals and other supportive therapies. Supporting therapies include bisphosphonates, erythropoeitin etc, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics and antivirals, and stem cell transplantation support.
At Healthcare at Home, our nurses hold post-registration qualifications in a wide range of specialty areas. These include Intravenous Therapies, Critical Care, Oncology, Haematology, Paediatrics, Respiratory Care and Orthopaedics.
All of our nurses are experienced and fully competent in a wide range of disease areas and therapies, and their skills reflect this, they are professionally accountable for every aspect of the care they provide and are fully covered by our own company indemnity insurance. Treatment regimes are supervised as appropriate by the responsible consultant and are given in compliance with hospital treatment protocols or our own evidence-based clinical policies.
Our nurses carry all the necessary equipment with them and remove all clinical waste from the home. In between treatments the nurses visit to provide support and carry out the necessary blood tests. Throughout the treatment period, consultants continue to review patients in clinic in the normal way.
Finally, we operate a 24 hour nurse on-call service, so there is always a specialist nurse available to visit patients whenever the need arises.
