With more and more opportunities arising to treat NHS patients in the private sector, many private hospitals are starting to feel their own pressure on beds and post operative service departments.

In order to reduce pressure for private hospitals, Healthcare at Home offers a specialist early discharge service for orthopaedic private patients. High quality care is provided in patients' own homes by our specialist team of orthopaedic nurses and physiotherapists.

Patients who have undergone hip replacement, hip resurfacing, total knee replacement and revision surgery can benefit from this service.

For example, if the discharge criteria are all met we will care for a patient at home post total hip replacement after 4 days. This compares to a normal discharge plan of between 9 and 11 days, freeing up their hospital bed for the next patient.

Our early discharge service is quick and easy to set up. Not surprisingly, it is also extremely popular with patients.
